Is it the roundness itself that sucks or the ingredients therein?

Re: Are Round Waffles Inferior?
Mon, February 23, 2004 - 12:26 PMRound waffles are fine. The shape doesn't matter, it's the ingredients!
I think Abby's new high-tech waffle iron is round.

Re: Are Round Waffles Inferior?
Mon, February 23, 2004 - 12:26 PMround waffles with heart shaped sub segments are the best, anything angular is inferior -

Yes, please do.
I personally have never seen heart shaped segments, even the idea is mind boggling. -

Re: Are Round Waffles Inferior?
Thu, March 4, 2004 - 6:17 AMI think the best thing about 'rounds' is the little crispy-bits around the edge - they are far superior to the bits on angular waffles.
The worst thing about 'rounds' is they
way they sound on my turntable.....

Re: Are Round Waffles Inferior?
Mon, May 22, 2006 - 3:37 PMthey are absolutely not inferior! that is like asking if a lightbulb is better at putting out light if it is square rather than round, ot triangular or hexigonal, or even shaped like a 20 sided die. its prejudice against the waffley goodness and all around wrong. -

Re: Are Round Waffles Inferior?
Tue, May 23, 2006 - 5:12 AMMyself, I find the round shape just perfect! -

Re: Are Round Waffles Inferior?
Tue, May 23, 2006 - 5:58 PMShape is almost irrelevant. They can be heart-shaped, or even Mickey-mouse shaped, for all I care. It has to do with thickness for me. I loathe thin waffles. they have to have a good healthy bite to them. otherwise why bother. nothing there. and nothing for the syrup to pool up in ;-)
actually, if i don't make enough batter (cuz I'm too tired and i forget to double the recipe for my 4-square Belgian iron) they come out looking like snowflakes anyway! lol... again, it's the thickness...
